Each year, twentysomethings from all over the world take on one of the most gruelling yet satisfying summer jobs imaginable.

Forestry is one of Canada's largest industries, especially in British Columbia. Each year, around 2 million acres of forest is harvested in British Columbia alone. The most popular form of harvesting has been clear-cutting blocks of land, and in the mid-80s out of concern for the environmental impacts of overharvesting, laws were enacted that require three new trees for every one harvested.

From this need to replant, the job of planting trees was born.
